On Identity

"Identity being a fluid thing is important to both of us because we have always existed in this space of inbetweenness. It's always the, 'What are you question?' You may identify with two different things or multiple things, but the fact that someone else is projecting onto you what you should be named and how you should self identify is definitely an issue of power. And our perspective is that we should be able to claim what we want, when we want, and how we want, and it's not up to anyone else to decide that for us."
