A group exhibition of 23 emerging artists who explore concepts of sex-positive feminism. This show addresses the influence of family, religion, culture, politics, education, and the economy on women and their sexualities. Notions of pleasure and desire, repression and repulsion, taboo and fantasy, body image and biology, love, lust, shame, eroticism, and kink are examined through contemporary art in diverse media.
"The Feminist Sex Shoppe" is curated by Malika Ali and features new works by Amy Cannestra, Angela Rose Voulgarelis, Black Leader, Carly Zufelt, César Piette, Christine Wuenschel, Clotilde Jiménez, Dakota Gearhart, Eike Waltz, Ellen Dicola, Ghislaine Fremaux, Heather Marie Scholl, Jackie J. Stone, Jeanette May, Julia Phillips, Kellie Spano, Lisa Cooperman, Marie Tomanova, Marta Lee, Nico Mazza, Nina Rota, Patricia Ventura Parra, and Sapira Cheuk.
